Practice Management

Mrs Linda Heywood

The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice Manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Administration

Joanne runs searches and ensures that the practice is paid for the services they provide.

Mrs Julie Ritchie
Julie puts all your information onto the computer from your medical records when you are new to the practice.  She also keeps your records updated when you visit the hospital or other clinics.  Julie is also a Phlebotomist, which means if the doctor or nurse request that you have a blood test she will be one of two people who will take the blood from you.

Reception

Mrs Suzanne Ruck Senior Receptionist - also a Phlebotomist, so if the doctor or nurse ask that you have a blood test, Suzanne may be the one taking the blood from you.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Sarah joined our team in February '18.  She is the 6th member of our busy reception team.  She will be working on the reception desk. 

Sarah will help you to arrange your appointments with the clinicians at the surger, such as the doctor, the nurse or the health improvement practitioner

Can process repeat prescriptions

Answer any queries you have and pass them on to the correct member of staff at the surgery

Secretaries

Mrs Karen Holt (f)

Karen deals with all the referrals the doctors make to the specialists at the hospital.  She types the letters and sends all the referral information via an electronic service named "Choose and Book".
